American Horror Story writer Douglas Petrie has revealed the show's creepy fourth season setting.

Petrie spoke to Nerdist News for a podcast interview, and confirmed fan speculation that the fourth season will have a carnival theme.

"Yes, it does not have a title... but that is the idea. That's very roughly the idea," the writer said.

Entertainment Weekly previously reported that the fourth season will take place in the 1950s, and that actress Jessica Lange has been practicing her German accent for her final season. Sarah Paulson will also return to the show, and told Vulture in February that she is working on a "very special skill" for the new season. Other details remain elusive.

The fourth season of American Horror Story will debut in October of this year.
