J.K. Rowling returns to the Harry Potter universe in a new story released on her website Friday.

The author posted the first chapter on Pottermore this morning, and a second half is soon to follow.

The tale is the first in a two-part story about Quidditch, and relays the official history of the Quidditch World Cup. The history begins in 1473, and controversial rules and moments in the tournament are touched upon in the chapter. The Death Eaters' appearance at the Cup that took place in Goblet of Fire is also addressed.

While the book series came to an end with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007, Rowling has kept the story alive via the Pottermore website. The author regularly posts original material about the universe and its characters for fans seeking more since the books and films ended.

Rowling will also write the screenplay for the upcoming film adaptation of her 2001 book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The book is Harry's purported textbook that explores the magical creatures found in the Harry Potter world.
