Pablo first came to fame in the early 2000s with songs such as "Raise Up" and "Freek-a-Leek." The performer was arrested on September 11, 2010 at Raleigh airport after he attempted to carry a stolen pistol onto his flight. He claimed he did not know the weapon was in his bag, but pleaded guilty to the stolen firearm charge. Pablo was sentenced to thirty-five months in prison in September 2011, and was released four months early Thursday.
"I just want to say that I'm totally glad to be back in the race and behind the wheel of a car that has been fine-tuned for the greatest performance," Pablo said of his release to MTV. "I'm now headed to the work shop to begin what will be noted as my best work ever..."
The rapper said he will collaborate with friend and producer Timbaland back in the studio. "One of the greatest producers of all time... My brother, my friend, my partner for life: mega producer Timbaland, the King!" Pablo exclaimed.
The performer had previously served six years of a fourteen-year sentence for a 1993 armed robbery.
