In keeping with the current trend for surprise albums, DJ and electronic music star Skrillex unexpectedly made his new album Recess available to stream ahead of its March 18 release date.

The six-time Grammy winner put an app called "Alien Ride" up on Apple's App Store on March 7. The app contained a secret folder with eleven hidden objects and a countdown that ended on March 10. It was revealed on Monday night that the folder contained the new songs from Recess, and Skrillex made the tracks available to stream one by one.

Skrillex also announced his new cross-country tour, The Mothership Tour 2014. The tour will kick off in Oklahoma City on May 23, and end July 30 in Portland, Maine. Artists Dillon Francis, What So Not, and Milo & Otis will also perform.

Recess will officially release on March 18, and preorders are available now on iTunes.
