LOS ANGELES, March 9 (UPI) -- Jennifer Beals scored the lead role in a pilot for the TNT show, Proof, described as a "supernatural medical drama."

The show, executive-produced by former TNT star Kyra Sedgwick, will focus on the life of surgeon Dr. Kathryn Russo. She's a born skeptic, but will start investigating supernatural cases -- hauntings, reincarnations -- after the death of her teenage son.

Beals, whose previous television credits include The L Word and Mob Doctor, teased the news on Twitter over the weekend.

"Well, I just got some good news...#standbyfordetails," she wrote.

She then linked to Deadline's article, with the hashtag, "#excited."
