LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- A man is claiming to be Michael Jackson's son and says that he has the DNA evidence to prove it.

Brandon Howard, 31, is the son of singer Miki Howard, whom Jackson's father Joe Jackson represented in the 1980s. Sources close to Howard say that Jackson and Howard's mother met in 1982 and Howard was born soon after.

Howard claims he obtained DNA from an old orthodontic device worn by Jackson that proves that he is Jackson's son. It is not clear how he obtained the device.

The Jackson estate lawyer Howard Weitzman says that getting money from the estate will be difficult now that Jackson has passed. "We've never even heard from him," said Weitzman, "any deadline for claiming to be Michael's child has long since passed."
