Conan O'Brien will host the 2014 MTV Movie Awards

O'Brien says, "There is only one award and one award that matters!"

LOS ANGELES, March 5 (UPI) -- Conan O'Brien announced on Tuesday night that he will host this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The 50-year-old star of Conan quipped on his show that "there is only one award and one award that matters," and that "I, Conan O'Brien will realize my lifelong dream... of hosting the 2014 MTV Movie Awards!"

O'Brien is no stranger to hosting duties, having previously hosted the 2002 and 2006 Emmy Awards.

MTV will announce this year's nominations on MovieAwards.MTV.com on March 6 at 7A a.m. EST.

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. EST at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
