LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- The Oscars included Harold Ramis, who died late last month, in its annual "In Memoriam" segment on Sunday night. But Bill Murray, Ramis' friend and co-star, threw in a touching and funny tribute of his own.
When Murray joined Amy Adams onstage to present the nominees for Best Cinematography, the 63-year-old actor added, "Oh, we forgot one. Harold Ramis for Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day."
Murray's tribute scored laughter and applause from the audience.
He also issued this statement shortly after Ramis' death:
“Harold Ramis and I together did the National Lampoon Show off Broadway, Meatballs, Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him."
Ramis died Feb. 24 after losing his battle with autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis.
