LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Brad Pitt produced and played a bit part in 12 Years a Slave, which took home multiple awards, including Best Picture, at Saturday night's Independent Spirit Awards.

Pitt's fiancee, Angelina Jolie, who spent the last several months filming Unbroken in Australia, attended the ceremony in all black -- her favorite red-carpet hue.

"I'm very proud of him," Jolie told E! News. "I am always very proud of him."

Jolie will also present at Sunday night's Oscars ceremony. At rehearsals on Thursday, the 38-year-old actress joked about her most recognizable Oscars moment of years past.

"And then I go like this," she said on stage, poking her leg out, a reference to her leggy 2012 Oscars dress.
