March 1 (UPI) -- Irish actor Liam Neeson said that of all the thousands of sympathy cards and expressions of condolences after wife Natasha Richardson's death, he didn't hear a word from the ski resort where she died.

In an appearance on Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live," Neeson revealed the lack of communication from Tremblant ski resort in Canada.

"The ski resort where Natasha met her death...we got hundreds -- maybe a couple thousand -- sympathy cards, emails and stuff from all over the world, especially America," Neeson said. "Not one from that ski resort. I kid you not. Not one."

The hotel and resort released a statement after Neeson's comment.

"The team in place at Tremblant at the time of Mrs. Richardson's passing contacted Mr. Neeson's staff to extend their sincere condolences. We publicly expressed our sympathies to Mr. Neeson and Mrs. Richardson's family and friends and, on behalf of the entire team at Tremblant, would like to reiterate them once again," the statement said.

Neeson has given a couple interviews recently about the fifth anniversary of Richardson's death.

He told "60 Minutes" her death "was never real."

"There's periods now in our New York residence when I hear the door opening, especially the first couple of years...anytime I hear that door opening, I still think I'm going to hear her," he said.
