Netflix hack day comes up with creative solutions to Netflix problems

So when you fall asleep during House of Cards, you won't feel like you missed everything.

LOS GATOS, Calif., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- The Netflix "hack day" uncovered some creative solutions to common Netflix problems such as falling asleep during a show and saving your favorite shows.

The most useful hack came from a Netflix engineer who developed a way to pause Netflix when you fall asleep using a Fitbit, a bracelet that monitors physical activity. When a Fitbit wearer falls asleep, Netflix can then pause the program and resume when the person wakes, so no one has to miss Frank Underwood annihilating his enemies.

Another hack replaces the queue feature that Netflix removed with custom playlists. Users can save individual episodes by theme or occasion.

Netflix says that even though the hacks are cool, they might never make it to the masses. If they do push forward the sleep pause concept, they will be the heroes of internet video streaming.
