LOS ANGELES, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Paula Patton was all smiles and sans wedding ring when the actress was spotted at LAX.

Patton, 38, announced earlier this week that she and husband Robin Thicke will be separating after nine years of marriage. Many suspect that Thicke's rumored infidelities were a major cause in the breakup.

TMZ reports that Thicke is not as eager to move on. The 36-year-old singer officially cancelled his Atlanta concert due to "throat problems" after hearing the news, but a source close to the couple says Thicke used the opportunity to fly home to Canada and plead with his wife.

Patton, who is currently shooting a movie in Vancouver, had a long face-to-face talk with Thicke, but sources say the actress was adamant about the split and that Thicke reluctantly agreed.

A more recent report says that Thicke is still desperate to save the marriage. The singer apparently wants to convince Patton that he can be a good husband and that his bad behavior is a thing of the past.

Thicke will resume his tour tonight in Washington D.C., but does not plan on going out on the town afterward.
