(UPI) -- Duck Dynasty star Uncle Si Robertson revealed in a recent interview with Men’s Journal that he’s not exactly a fan of gun control measures, among other things.

"It ain't gun control we need; it's sin control," he said.

Robertson learned a thing or two about firearms and what they can do while he served in Vietnam after being drafted into the Army.

"I kept a fifth of whiskey in my pocket everywhere I went," he says. "I tried dope one time, okay, like marijuana, but why would you smoke something that makes you feel 100 years old? So, drugs wasn't it for me. In my mind, it was alcohol and whoring around."

The 24-year-veteran is a religious man, but that doesn’t mean he’s perfect. "Look, I worry that people put us on a pedestal now. We're human beings. We make mistakes just like everybody else,” he said.

Robertson, 65, is the star of a show that began its third season with 8.6 million viewers, a circumstance that has led to a few strange happenings.

"The other night," Robertson said, "it's 12:03 in the morning, and somebody is knocking on the door, and I'm like, 'You've got to be kidding me,' and I look outside and there's 25 people standing in my yard. You know, He's the reason this show has gone on like it has, but I have to ask Him every day, 'Give me strength to deal with this.'"
