LAS VEGAS, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Las Vegas Strip performer Pia Zadora has been ordered to undergo alcohol and anger counseling before a domestic violence case against her can be dismissed.

Las Vegas Township Judge Melanie Tobiasson on Thursday ordered Zadora to go to counseling to learn how to control her impulses and to stay out of trouble for a year, or face jail time for charges of domestic abuse and coercion, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Zadora, 61, was arrested on June 1 for a May 31 incident at her home in Summerlin, in which she sprayed her 16-year-old son with a garden hose, grabbed him by his neck, and scratched him.

Zadora did not attend the hearing Thursday.
