Lohan, 50, had a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit when police pulled her over for speeding on the Northern State Parkway at around 11 p.m. EDT Thursday.
"Lohan made an allegation that she was injured during the course of the arrest," a police source told TMZ, adding when medical personnel responded to the scene and determined she had no visible injuries, she "recanted her claim."
Lohan was booked on two counts of driving while intoxicated and one count of speeding. She is due back in court later this month.
Lohan was released from police custody early Friday to a friend or family member, who has not been identified to the media.
Lindsay Lohan recently completed a court-appointed 90-day stint in rehab where she was treated for drug and alcohol addiction.
