Fourth U.S. porn actor tests positive for HIV

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A fourth U.S. adult-film performer in three weeks has confirmed he tested positive for HIV, RadarOnline.com reported Tuesday.

"I can confirm," AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein told the website about the unnamed male actor's diagnosis.

"However, he has asked that all other information be kept strictly confidential at this time," Weinstein said. "I have nothing else to say about the performer."

RadarOnline.com said the recent spate of HIV diagnoses is threatening the multi-billion-dollar U.S. pornography industry.

Film shoots were shut down for a week last month after an actress known as Cameron Bay tested positive for HIV, the virus believed to cause AIDS. Rod Daily, who is romantically linked to Bay, later announced he had also tested positive.

A third actor whose name was not released said last Friday he, too, tested positive for HIV, RadarOnline.com said.
