Princess Madeleine of Sweden pregnant with first child

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Sweden's Princess Madeleine and her husband Christopher O'Neill announced on the Royal Court's website Tuesday they are expecting their first child.

"Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O'Neill are delighted to announce that the princess is expecting their first child. The birth is expected to take place in beginning of March of 2014," the royal couple said in a statement.

The Local said the baby will be fifth in line for the Swedish throne and will be raised to be Swedish.

The princess married the U.S. banker in Stockholm June 8.
