The royal baby could be born sooner than we thought.

Though most reports indicated that the duchess of Cambridge expected to give birth in mid-July -- the Daily Mail was even more specific with a July 13 due date -- some royal watchers are now wondering with the duke and duchess of Cambridge were purposely misleading.

As the Independent notes, Kate and Wills could have taken a cue from his mother, Princess Diana, who famously told the media that he was due July 1 when he was actually born 10 days earlier.

According to The Week UK, British bookkeepers say that the odds that Middleton will give birth in the first week of July have gone from 8-1 to 4-1, following rumors that the royal couple would try to pull a fast one.

Bookie William Hill said odds are in favor of a girl, with names like Alexandra, Diana, Charlotte and Elizabeth being the favorites.
