Kate christens cruise ship in Southampton, England

LONDON, June 13 (UPI) -- Prince William's wife, Kate, christened a cruise ship the Royal Princess in Southampton, England Thursday, officials said.

The Telegraph said this would be her last solo public appearance before she gives birth to her first child next month.

The official naming of the cruise ship included the traditional smashing of a bottle over the liner's hull before it headed out on its maiden voyage to Barcelona, Spain, the newspaper said.
