Prince William excited about impending fatherhood

LONDON, May 25 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince William expressed his excitement at being a new dad during a visit to a London charity, a charity official said.

The prince made a low-key visit to the Centrepoint charity's Bruce House in London this week where he spoke with residents who are learning skills necessary to be entrepreneurs, People magazine reported.

Seyi Obakin, chief executive of Centrepoint, said William, who is the royal patron of the charity, mentioned his impending fatherhood.

"He is looking forward to being a dad. He's very excited about it," Obakin said.

Also while visiting the charity, Prince William played ping pong with a group of residents, observed them playing soccer and even sampled some of the smoothies and chocolate some of the young people make as part of a new business.

"They had some products there that he was very happy to indulge in," Obakin said.

Obakin remarked that the Prince's trip was under-the-radar, just like how his mother, Princess Diana, made her routine visits when she was the royal patron of the charity.

"He's carrying that [tradition of service] on," Obakin said. "He appreciates that if he did this kind of thing in public he wouldn't get the same quality of conversation he wanted with the young people."
