Amanda Plummer to star in off-Broadway production of 'Two-Character Play'

NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) -- Amanda Plummer is to return to the New York stage after a 15-year absence, the producers of Tennessee Williams' "The Two-Character Play" announced Monday.

The "Pulp Fiction" cast member will co-star in the off-Broadway premiere production of "The Two-Character Play" with Academy Award-nominated actor Brad Dourif.

Previews are to begin June 10 at New World Stages and opening night is set for June 19.

"Equal parts Southern Gothic thriller, black comedy and psychological drama, the work, written during a time of great personal strife, is abstractly based on Williams' close yet complicated relationship with his sister, Rose. Gene David Kirk directs," the play's producers said in a news release. "Reality and fantasy are interwoven with terrifying power as two actors on tour -- brother and sister -- find themselves deserted by their troupe."

Plummer last appeared on the New York stage in the Off-Broadway production of "Killer Joe" in 1998.

Dourif is known for his work in the film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," as well as the "Child's Play" and "The Lord of the Rings" franchises.
