The latest news on today's hottest celebrities ...

GRAMMY AWARDS: About 28.37 million viewers tuned it for Sunday's Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, CBS said Monday.

The 2013 show celebrating the best in music had the second-largest audience for the awards broadcast since 1993, the network said, without disclosing the viewership for that year.

Nearly 40 million people watched the 2012 edition of the Grammy Awards, which featured quickly planned but heartfelt tributes to pop icon Whitney Houston, a singer who drowned the day before in a hotel bathtub after using drugs. She was 48.

British folk rock band Mumford & Sons took home the top prize of Album of the Year Sunday night for "Babel."

HEATHER LOCKLEAR: U.S. television actress Heather Locklear has joined the cast of the legal dramedy "Franklin & Bash," TNT announced.

Season 3 of the show, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer, began taping last week.

The 10-episode season is scheduled to air this summer.

Locklear, 51, is best known for her work on "Dynasty," "TJ Hooker," "Melrose Place," "Spin City" and "Hot in Cleveland."

'DANCING WITH THE STARS:' The next gaggle of celebrities to compete on TV's "Dancing with the Stars" will be announced Feb. 26 on "Good Morning America," ABC said Monday.

Season 16 of the dance competition series is to kick off March 18 with a 2-hour episode.

"The competition begins with 12 new celebrities who will brave the 'DWTS' dance floor for their very first time," ABC said in a news release.

"Leaving their comfort zones and enduring grueling rehearsals, these new competitors will work to master creative and entertaining performances and world-class choreography, all while receiving critical judgment on the unforgiving ballroom floor and in front of America. In the end, only one star will rise above the rest to be crowned champion and awarded the coveted mirror-ball trophy."

Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet will once again serve as co-hosts of the show.

RICHARD GERE: "Chicago" co-stars Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones are to appear on stage together at the Oscars in Los Angeles.

"We are very excited to reunite the stars of 'Chicago' to present on the Oscars, on the 10th anniversary of the movie's win for Best Picture," Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement Monday.

Zellweger, Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah also earned nominations for their performances in the film, with Zeta-Jones winning for Best Supporting Actress.

Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 are to be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.

Seth MacFarlane is to serve as host of the event, which will air live on ABC.
