LARRY MILLER: Larry Miller's publicist says the U.S. stand-up comedian and actor has recovered from a life-threatening brain injury he suffered last April.

Miller, 58, has appeared on TV's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Seinfeld." He also frequently has roles in director Garry Marshall's films, such as "Pretty Woman," "The Princess Diaries," "Runaway Bride," "Valentine's Day" and "New Year's Eve."

People.com said Miller lost his footing, fell and hit his head on the pavement after finishing a podcast with comedian Adam Carolla last spring. He slipped into a coma and was put on life support at UCLA Medical Center for a month.

"He was hovering between life and death," his representative Michael Hansen told People.com.

"It's a miracle he woke up. ... He's lucky to be alive," Hansen said. "He had to work on some issues regarding brain connectivity."

"I'm very thankful to have recovered from a traumatic brain injury so quickly," Miller told People.com.

'1600 PENN:' U.S. President Barack Obama is to serve as host of a cast and crew screening of the new White House-set sitcom, "1600 Penn," NBC said.

The showing is to take place Wednesday, a day ahead of the series' small-screen premiere.

"The late-afternoon event climaxes a whirlwind day of promotional events in Washington, D.C., designed to launch '1600 Penn,'" NBC said in a news release Tuesday. "The schedule also includes a tour of the White House and a screening and panel at the National Press Club. President Obama will be joined by his speech-writing team, which once included Jon Lovett, who co-created and executive-produces the show with series star Josh Gad, director Jason Winer and Mike Royce."

The sitcom stars Bill Pullman as President Gilchrist, Jenna Elfman as his second wife, Emily, and Gad as Gilchrist's wayward son, Skip.

RICK ROSS: Hip-hop mogul Rick Ross has joined the cast for the second season of the Miami-set drama series "Magic City," Starz announced.

Ross will play Butterball, the proprietor of an illegal Cuban/American gambling house, the cable network said.

The rapper is the founder of the record label Maybach Music Group on which he released his studio albums "Deeper Than Rap," "Teflon Don" and "God Forgives, I Don't."

A huge fan of the series, Ross visited the "Magic City" set while in Miami last year and met the show's creator Mitch Glazer, who found a role for him, Starz said.

The show stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olga Kurylenko, Danny Huston and Kelly Lynch.

Season 2 is to debut this summer.

RAZZIE AWARD NOMINATIONS: "Breaking Dawn Part 2," the final installment in Hollywood's "Twilight" film franchise, has been nominated for 11 Razzie Awards, organizers said.

Nominees for the 33rd annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which recognize the year's worst in cinema, were announced Wednesday, the day before prestigious Oscar nominations will be revealed.

The names of Razzie winners will be read on Oscar Eve, Feb. 23.

Up for the Worst Picture Razzie are "Battleship," "Oogieloves in Big Balloon Adventure," "That's My Boy," "A Thousand Words" and "Breaking Dawn Part 2."

Shortlisted for Worst Actress are Katherine Heigl for "One for the Money," Milla Jovovich for "Resident Evil 5: Retribution," Tyler Perry in drag for "Madea's Witness Protection," Kristen Stewart for "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Breaking Dawn Part 2," and Barbra Streisand for "The Guilt Trip."

In the running for Worst Actor are Nicolas Cage for "Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance" and "Seeking Justice," Eddie Murphy for "A Thousand Words," Robert Pattinson for "Breaking Dawn Part 2," Tyler Perry for "Alex Cross" and Tyler Perry's "Good Deeds," and Adam Sandler for "That's My Boy."

Nominated for Worst Supporting Actress are

Jessica Biel for "Playing for Keeps" and "Total Recall," Brooklyn Decker for "Battleship" and "What to Expect When You're Expecting," Ashley Greene for "Breaking Dawn Part 2," Jennifer Lopez for "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and Rihanna for "Battleship."

Competing for the Worst Supporting Actor dishonor are David Hasselhoff as himself in "Piranha 3DD," Taylor Lautner in "Breaking Dawn Part 2," Liam Neeson in "Battleship" and "Wrath of the Titans," Nick Swardson in "That's My Boy" and Vanilla Ice as himself in "That's My Boy."

"Breaking Dawn Part 2" also earned two nods for Worst Screen couple for Mackenzie Foy and Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, as well as nominations for Worst Director for Bill Condon, Worst Ensemble, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Rip-Off, Re-Make or Sequel.
