Josh Brolin arrested New Year's Day

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Josh Brolin, who stars in the movie "The Gangster Squad," found himself in police custody New Year's Day on a public intoxication charge, police say.

Police in Santa Monica, Calif., told E! News Brolin, 44, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 1600 block of Ocean Avenue and had his mug photo taken as part of the booking procedure.

"He was intoxicated and unable to care for himself," city police Sgt. Richard Lewis said. "He was booked and released with no further action pending."
