NEW YORK, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- The Times Square New Year's Eve ball will be re-lit and sent up the 130-foot pole atop Manhattan's One Times Square where it will stay all year, officials said.
Event co-producers Jeff Straus, president of Countdown Entertainment, and Tim Tompkins, president of the Times Square Alliance, will preside over Thursday afternoon's raising and relighting of the ball, which was used to ring in 2013 this week.
