Kim Kardashian, Kanye West expecting first child

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Dec. 31 (UPI) – Rapper Kanye West announced at a New Jersey concert his girlfriend, TV personality Kim Kardashian, is pregnant with their first child.

E! News reported West confirmed the pregnancy to fans at his show in Atlantic City, N.J., Sunday night and Kardashian's family later said she is 12 weeks pregnant.

The reaction from family and friends was positive, the entertainment news website said.

"Congrats to Kim and Kanye. Happy for both of them... bit.ly/YE4Uzh," Russell Simmons tweeted.

"Im a happy girl !!!!!!!!! Wowza! Oh BABY BABY BABY," Kris Jenner, Kardashian's mother, tweeted.

"Keeping secrets is hard with so many family members! Especially when you are so freaking excited!!!!! LOVE is everything!!!!" wrote Khloe Kardashian Odom wrote.

"Been wanting to shout from the rooftops with joy and now I can! Another angel to welcome to our family. Overwhelmed with excitement!" Kourtney Kardashian gushed on Twitter.


Green Day to resume touring in March

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- U.S. rock group Green Day says it has rescheduled its concert tour starting in March now lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has undergone treatment for addiction.

The tour originally was to kick off in Seattle, Wash., in September and was to end in Tempe, Ariz., Dec. 10.

All of those gigs, as well as scheduled appearances for January and February, were canceled after Armstrong checked into a treatment facility.

The singer said he was seeking help for substance abuse problems after he ranted on stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival because he thought his group's set was cut short to make way for other acts.

The band later said it had as much time as expected and apologized for Armstrong's behavior.

"We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us for the last few months," the musicians said in a statement on their website Sunday. "We are very excited to hit the road and see all of you again, though we regret having to cancel more shows."

Armstrong wrote a separate message, expressing his gratitude to fans who offered him their support.

"I just wanted to thank you all for all the love [and] support you've showed for the past few months," he wrote. "Believe me, it hasn't gone unnoticed and I'm eternally grateful to have such an amazing set of friends and family. I'm getting better everyday. So now, without further ado, the show must go on... We can't wait to get on the road and live out loud! Our passion has only grown stronger. Happy new year. We love you all. Rage and love."

Green Day said it will now kick off its string of shows March 28 in Chicago. The tour will wrap in Quebec City April 12.


'Ted' tops DVD sales chart for second week

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Mark Wahlberg's R-rated stuffed bear comedy "Ted" is the top-selling DVD in the United States for a second week, Rentrak announced Monday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD and Blu-ray sales roster for the week ending Dec. 23 is "The Dark Knight Rises," followed by "Pitch Perfect" at No. 3, "Total Recall" at No. 4 and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Brave" at No. 6, "Ice Age: Continental Drift" at No. 7, "The Bourne Legacy" at No. 8, "The Dark Knight Trilogy" at No. 9 and "Resident Evil: Retribution" at No. 10.

The No. 1 DVD rental for the week ended Dec. 22 is "Total Recall."

"The Watch" is No. 2, "Men in Black 3" is No. 3, "Savages" is No. 4, "Lawless" is No. 5, "Hope Springs" is No. 6, "Brave" is No. 7, "The Expendables 2" is No. 8, "The Campaign" is No. 9 and "Stolen" is No. 10.


NBC passes on 'Munsters' re-boot, 'Mockingbird Lane'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Bryan Fuller, the writer-director-producer of "Mockingbird Lane," says NBC has not ordered a U.S. series based on his pilot for "The Munsters" re-boot.

"I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support," Fuller tweeted last week.

TVGuide.com said about 5.4 million viewers tuned in for the pilot for the monster family drama "Mockingbird Lane," which aired as a Halloween special in October. It starred Jerry O'Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as his wife, Lily, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa.
