LAS VEGAS, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- The Walt Disney Co. said it has canceled Olympic runner Suzy Favor Hamilton's appearances at its marathons after she was outed as a Las Vegas prostitute.

The family-friendly company said Hamilton was not under contract to speak at runDisney marathon events, but was an invited guest, The Sporting News reported Friday.

She appeared at this year's Disneyland Half Marathon and at the Prince Half Marathon at Florida's Walt Disney World in February, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Gossip website thesmokinggun.com outed the three-time Olympian's double life as a prostitute Thursday.

The New York Times reported Hamilton, working under the fake name Kelly Lundy, was getting paid as much as $600 per hour.

Hamilton competed in the Olympics as a distance runner in 1992, 1996 and 2000.

The Times said Hamilton also runs a real estate brokerage firm in Wisconsin with her husband and has a 7-year-old old daughter.

The former athlete took to Twitter to explain why she led the double life.

"I was drawn to escorting in large part because it provided many coping mechanisms for me when I was going through a very challenging time with my marriage and my life," Hamilton said. "It provided an escape from a life that I was struggling in. It was a double life."
