LONDON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- British Prince William's pregnant wife, Kate, has been released from the London hospital where she was treated for extreme morning sickness since Monday.

"The Duchess of Cambridge has been discharged from the King Edward VII Hospital and will now head to Kensington Palace for a period of rest," the Palace told UsMagazine.com in a statement Thursday. "Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank the staff at the hospital for the care and treatment the Duchess has received."

UsMagazine.com said Prince William was spotted escorting his 30-year-old wife out of the hospital and the mother-to-be told reporters waiting outside she is feeling "much better."

William and Kate married in April 2011.
