EDINBURGH, Scotland, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Author J.K. Rowling has sold her 19th century mansion in Edinburgh, Scotland, for more than $3.6 million, The Scotsman reported Monday.

The eight-bedroom house where the scribe penned at least four of her seven "Harry Potter" novels was sold three weeks after it was listed to a Scotland firm.

Rowling purchased the top half of the house in 1999, then later bought out her downstairs neighbor and converted the whole home into a single luxury residence. She lived there with her husband, Dr. Neil Murray, and her three children until 2009, the newspaper said.
