Louise Erdich wins National Book Award for 'Round House'

NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Louise Erdich's "The Round House" has won America's National Book Award for Fiction, organizers announced.

Katherine Boo earned the non-fiction award for her book "Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity," the National Book Foundation said Wednesday.

The winners for the NBAs for poetry and Young People's Literature respectively are David Ferry's "Bewilderment: New Poems and Translations" and William Alexander's "Goblin Secrets."
