Speaking in a wide-ranging conversation with Robin De Wind of WHEC Saturday at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Baldwin dismissed rumors that he was considering running for mayor of New York City, The (Rochester, NY) Democrat and Chronicle reported.
"When you're running for office, you have to look at the landscape of where you live," he said. "New York is wall-to-wall Democrats in all the statewide offices. No one's going anywhere."
And, he said, New York politicians rival actors when it comes to ego.
"You have to go to Hollywood to find people who have egos as grand as the people who occupy statewide office in New York," he said. "When that guy's gone, there are six people lined up behind him who feel it is their birthright to have his job."
