50 Cent 'fine' after N.Y. car crash

NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- Curtis Jackson's publicist says the rapper known as 50 Cent is "doing fine" after his sport-utility vehicle collided with a truck Tuesday morning in New York.

"He was taken to New York Hospital Queens where he was treated for minor neck and back injuries," the performer's representative told TMZ. "He was released this morning and is doing fine."

His Web site ThisIs50.com said the collision happened on the Long Island Expressway.

It was unclear whether Jackson was driving at the time or if police issued any summonses related to the crash.

Jason Lee's wife gives birth to a son

LOS ANGELES, June 26 (UPI) -- Jason Lee's publicist says the actor's wife, Ceren, has given birth to a son in Los Angeles.

Baby Sonny Lee weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces when he was born June 16, People.com reported Tuesday.

The couple married in 2008 and are also parents to daughter Casper, 3.

The former "My Name is Earl" star has an 8-year-old son named Pilot with his ex-girlfriend, Beth Riesgraf.

Spice Girls musical headed to West End

LONDON, June 26 (UPI) -- A new stage show penned by comedian Jennifer Saunders and featuring the music of the Spice Girls is to open in London in December, producers said.

Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell -- original members of the now-defunct pop group -- helped announce plans for the musical "Viva Forever!" Tuesday, the BBC reported.

Set to open at the Piccadilly Theatre Dec. 11, the show was conceived by Judy Craymer, producer of the ABBA musical "Mamma Mia!"

The BBC quoted Craymer as describing Saunders as a "brilliant collaborator."

"She understands the anxieties in women, the fear of judgment and trepidation that one day they get to a certain age and become invisible," Craymer said.

A synopsis said "Viva Forever!" is "the story of a beautiful, talented girl and her best friends who get swept up in the obsession of today's TV celebrity culture."

Travolta and Preston smooch at premiere

NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- Film star John Travolta repeatedly kissed and hugged his wife, actress Kelly Preston, at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, "Savages."

The New York Daily News said the couple appeared to be showing reporters and photographers they are committed to their 20-year marriage, despite recent allegations claiming Travolta has been sexually inappropriate with numerous men.

Travolta's lawyer has vehemently denied the charges on the actor's behalf.
