P!nk has gallbladder removed

LOS ANGELES, June 8 (UPI) -- P!nk's publicist says the American pop star had her gallbladder removed this week.

"P!nk had her gallbladder removed and is out of the hospital recovering nicely," her representative told E! News Thursday.

The 32-year-old singer was hospitalized for a couple of days this week with the stomach flu and missed a fundraiser for President Barack Obama she planned to attend, E! News said.

"F YOU gall bladder! SAYONARA!!!!!!!!!!!!" Pink said via Twitter in an update of her medical condition.

Beatles museum to close in Germany

HAMBURG, Germany, June 8 (UPI) -- The Beatlemania museum in Hamburg says it is closing its doors at the end of this month after three years because of low attendance.

The British rock group featuring the late John Lennon and George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney performed in Hamburg's nightclubs for two years in the early 1960s.

A five-story museum dedicated to the iconic band is to close due to a lack of state funding and too few visitors, the German edition of The Local reported.

"In view of the high deficits, there is no solution left but closure, if you want to act responsibly," said museum manager Folkert Koopmanns. "A privately-run museum as big as Beatlemania is condemned to fail without public support. That's a fact that we fought against until enthusiasm turned into resignation -- a bitter experience."

The Local did not say what will be done with the more than 1,000 Beatles artifacts in the museum's collection.

Report: Long and Mara dating

NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Justin Long recently began dating actress Kate Mara, a source close to the new couple told UsMagazine.com.

The pair were spotted walking arm in arm in New York last weekend and taking in a performance of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" on Broadway last month, the report said.

Mara, a former "American Horror Story" co-star, is the 29-year-old sister of Oscar-nominated actress Rooney Mara.

Long is the ex-boyfriend of film star Drew Barrymore, who married art consultant Will Kopelman last Saturday, Long's 34th birthday.

Long's film credits include "He's Just Not That Into You" and "Going the Distance."

'Book of Mormon' to open in London

LONDON, June 8 (UPI) -- A production of the Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon" is to open in London next year, producers announced.

The New York staging of the show by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone won nine Tony Awards last June and has been one of the Great White Way's hottest tickets for more than a year.

"The Book of Mormon" is to begin preview performances Feb. 25 at London's Prince of Wales theater, home to the long-running ABBA musical "Mamma Mia," which will move to another venue in September, the BBC said.

Featuring extensive profanity and scatological humor, "Mormon" tells the story of how two missionaries try to convert Ugandan villagers facing poverty and strife unlike anything the naive visitors could imagine. While one of the young men is overwhelmed, the second attempts to teach the villagers about God in a way to which they can relate, inspiring them to hope for better lives.
