NEW YORK, June 4 (UPI) -- Paul Rudd, Ed Asner and Michael Shannon are to star in the Broadway premiere of Craig Wright's play "Grace," producers said Monday.

Wright is the author of "Mistakes Were Made," "Recent Tragic Events" and "Lady."

Co-starring Kate Arrington, "Grace" will begin previews Sept. 14 at a Shubert Theater. Opening night is set for Oct. 4

Dexter Bullard will direct the production.

"A thrilling cast combines with one of theater's truly original voices, in this enthralling Broadway premiere that asks: Are we in control of our lives or is there something else at work?" a synopsis said. "'Grace' follows a wide-eyed young couple [Rudd and Arrington] as they start a new life in sunny, promise-filled Florida, with big plans to open a chain of Gospel motels. An agitated neighbor [Shannon] and a caustic exterminator [Asner] complete the eclectic foursome as destinies collide in this intensely entertaining and suspenseful journey to the edge of your seat."

Grace first premiered at The Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington in 2004. It was subsequently seen in productions at Northlight Theater in suburban Chicago and at the Pasadena Playhouse in Los Angeles.
