SECAUCUS, N.J., May 29 (UPI) -- Field Station: Dinosaurs, a theme park featuring 31 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, opened to the public during the weekend in Secaucus, N.J.
Set on 20 acres adjacent to Laurel Hill Park and located near the prehistoric Snake Hill rock formation, the exhibition includes a 90-foot Argentinosaurus, which can be seen swishing its tail from the Met Life Stadium and parts of the New Jersey Turnpike, park officials said.
In addition to seeing how dinosaurs may have looked, moved and sounded in the wild, visitors to the park can also check out shows and demonstrations featuring large realistic-looking dinosaur puppets.
Field Station creator Guy Gsell said in a statement the park is "a wonderful collaboration with paleontologists, educators, entertainers, dinosaur creators and roboticists to create a special kind of entertainment that will thrill anyone -- whether they love dinosaurs or love someone who does.
"The Secaucus location at Laurel Hill Park provides the perfect ecological backdrop while still being easily accessible via the nearby New Jersey Turnpike and the Frank R. Lautenberg Secaucus Junction Station," Gsell said.
