DETROIT, May 9 (UPI) -- Rima Fakih, a former Miss USA from Michigan, has been placed on six months probation for driving while intoxicated, court officials said.

The Detroit Free Press said the 26-year-old beauty queen was ordered Wednesday to complete 20 hours of community service in Highland Park, Mich., pay more than $600 in fines and costs, and attend alcohol safety and victim impact classes.

Fakih pleaded no contest last month to driving while visibly impaired, the newspaper said.

She was arrested in December in suburban Detroit on suspicion of drunken driving.
