NEW YORK, May 9 (UPI) -- The Broadway revival of Gore Vidal's "The Best Man" has been extended through late July, the show's producers said Wednesday.
The production is nominated for the 2012 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play, while its star James Earl Jones is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play.
"The Best Man" is described as a play about "power, ambition, political secrets, ruthlessness and the race for the presidency."
Its cast includes Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergen, John Larroquette and Eric McCormack.
The show began previews March 6 and officially opened April 1 at Manhattan's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Its limited engagement was initially set to end July 8 but it will run through July 22, producers said.
