TMZ said Gallagher, 65, was preparing to perform Wednesday night when he experienced intense chest pains, prompting the owner of the club to call 911. The name of the venue was not reported.

Gallagher's manager told TMZ the comedian suffered a "mild to serious" heart attack and will remain in the hospital for the next couple of days.

The entertainer, whose real name is Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., previously suffered a minor heart attack on stage in Minnesota last year.

Jones officially dismissed from 'Idol'

LOS ANGELES, March 15 (UPI) -- "American Idol" executive producers Ken Warwick and Nigel Lythgoe confronted Jermaine Jones on camera about his criminal past before dismissing him.

The producers surprised the Top 12 contestant in their offices by telling him they learned he had been criminally charged twice in 2011 and attempted to use fake names when arrested, EW.com reported.

"There are four active warrants out on you, to be honest, Jermaine," Warwick said in Wednesday's edition of "Idol."

"We're not judgmental at all," the producer said, adding he wishes Jones had "come clean and told us in the beginning" about his criminal history.

"We are not allowed to have anyone who has an outstanding warrant on our program, and you've got four of them," EW.com quoted Lythgoe as saying. "We have to let you go."

Jones thanked the producers for the opportunity, hugged them and quietly left the office.

TMZ reported his dismissal earlier this week, but the show's producers declined to comment on the development.

No details regarding Jones' alleged crimes have been released yet.

Judd denies having surgery, using fillers

LOS ANGELES, March 15 (UPI) -- Ashley Judd's publicist says a sinus infection and the flu, not plastic surgery and injectable fillers, caused the U.S. actress' face to look puffy this week.

Judd, 43, has been on the promotion trail for her new TV show "Missing." Speculation has been rampant that the uncharacteristic swelling of her face seen in interviews meant she had some work done to look younger.

"For the record, this is unequivocally not true," Judd representative Cara Tripicchio told E! News.

"Ashley has been battling an ongoing, serious sinus infection and flu. Therefore, Ashley has been on a heavy dose of medication to overcome it so she could get on a plane and travel to Toronto and New York to fulfill her commitment of completing four consecutive days of press to promote her new show 'Missing,'" Tripicchio said. "This may have contributed to her face appearing 'puffy' on the talk show in Toronto; however, anyone who is truly paying attention and not looking to perpetuate a ridiculous story can look online further at photos of her last night during an Apple Store event in New York City and see for themselves that there is zero sign of plastic surgery, puffiness, fillers, etc., that has become a silly and erroneous topic of conversation. Ashley is a natural beauty enjoying her 40s gracefully."
