BELMOPAN, Belize, March 3 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince Harry danced with locals in Belize and tried their spirits during a tour of Commonwealth realms in honor of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.
The prince -- on the first leg of a weeklong tour of Belize, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Brazil -- gave a speech and renamed a street in Belmopan HM Queen Elizabeth II Boulevard in honor of his grandmother's 60th year on the British throne, The Daily Telegraph reported Sunday.
Local officials gave the 27-year-old, who has a reputation for being more informal in his royal duties, locally produced beer and rum to try. He was later invited to try a Creole dance called Brukong Bram by dancer Denese Enriquez, who is part of Belize's national dance company.
"He's a wonderful dancer, a real ten out of 10," Enriquez said. "The other girls will be very star-struck that I got to dance with him."
As part of more serious duties, Prince Harry met with officials in Belmopan over a project aimed at rebuilding strained ties between Belize and neighboring Guatemala, the Telegraph said.
