PARIS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- "The Artist," a silent French film up for 10 Academy Awards, garnered six awards at the 37th annual Cesar Awards in Paris.
After it premiered at the Festival de Cannes in May, "The Artist" has won more than 70 prizes worldwide and sold more than 2.1 million tickets, making it the most awarded French film in history.
Among the film's winners were star Berenice Bejo, who won best actress, and composer Ludovic Bource, who took home the award for best musical score.
Other winners Friday included Omar Sy, who won best director for his film "Untouchable," The Hollywood Reporter said.
Director Michel Gondry presented Kate Winslet with an Honorary Cesar after a retrospective of her career, to a standing ovation.
