LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Uncertainty over the address delayed the arrival of an ambulance at the home of actress Demi Moore, Los Angeles fire officials said.

Capt. Tina Haro said the person who called 911 when the actress lapsed into convulsion was using a cellphone and told dispatchers they were in Beverly Hills when they were actually within the Los Angeles city limits.

Because the caller was on a cellphone, the call initially went to the California Highway Patrol and did not automatically provide dispatchers with the caller's location.

"The address did not come up on the call takers' screen," Haro said. "That means the call taker has to go with the information that the caller told them."

Haro said the delay amounted to a matter of a few minutes with the ambulance pulling up to the scene 8 minutes after the call.

The caller told dispatchers Moore had collapsed at her home in the Benedict Canyon area after smoking something that was not marijuana.

"She's been having some issues lately with some other stuff, so I don't know what she's been taking or not," the unidentified caller said.

The Los Angeles Times said the specifics of the 911 call had to be redacted from the tape provided to the media due to federal privacy rules. Firefighters could not even confirm the name of the patient.
