LINDSAY LOHAN: A Los Angeles judge commended troubled actress Lindsay Lohan Tuesday for completing her required community service on time.
Lohan is on probation for a drunken driving conviction and various court violations stemming from it.
Judge Stephanie Sautner praised the "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star at a status hearing Tuesday morning, telling the actress her probation officer had written a positive report about her recent behavior, TMZ reported.
"Keep doing what you're doing. You appear to be doing very well," Sautner said.
Lohan is due back in court Feb. 22, TMZ said.
The 25-year-old former child star is on the comeback trail after years of drug addiction and legal troubles stalled her once-bright acting career. She most recently appeared in a photo spread for Playboy magazine and is again auditioning for film roles.
GOLDEN GLOBES TRIAL: The Hollywood Foreign Press Association's lawsuit against the producers of the Golden Globes is set to be heard next week in a Los Angeles federal court.
The HFPA, which presents the Golden Globe Awards, is suing the televised ceremony's longtime producer, Dick Clark Productions, for allegedly making a deal with NBC to keep the annual prize presentation on the network through 2018 without authorization from the association, the Los Angeles Times said.
The two parties are to bring the matter before a judge in the non-jury trial to start next Tuesday.
The Times said producer and television personality Dick Clark, HFPA Chairman Philip Berk, Chief Executive Mark Shapiro and former NBC business affairs chief Marc Graboff may be called to take the witness stand in the trial.
Sunday's Golden Globe Awards show was seen by 16.8 million viewers on NBC, the newspaper said.

The pop star and the former cast member of "The Hills," dated for nearly two years before splitting up last week, in part, because of their busy work schedules.
"Every time he wanted to come back and take meetings to get his career back in order, she would make him go to Asia and Europe," one insider told the celebrity news Web site.
"He hasn't worked and he wants to. They were both unhappy because he wants to have his career, she wants him to stay with her," the source said. "There is always a chance they will get back together. ... Brody is trying to set the ground rules and wants to be able to work. They have to find a balance."
Jenner is the son of Olympic decathlete Bruce Jenner and his former wife Linda Thompson.

"It's going to come out later in the year," McGovern told The Telegraph newspaper in England about her forthcoming as-yet-unnamed musical project.
"It's been so much fun. Elizabeth is a great songwriter," said Dockery who has previously performed live with McGovern's band, Sadie and the Hotheads.
