HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Former Miss USA Rima Fakih was arrested in suburban Detroit this weekend on suspicion of drunken driving, her lawyer confirmed.

Attorney Doriad Elder told the Detroit Free Press the Dearborn native who won the crown in 2010 was stopped in Highland Park early Saturday; however, details were not available.

Elder said Fakih's record was unblemished and "very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she is in right now."

The newspaper said Fakih's criminal record may be pristine, but she did run afoul of the Miss Universe pageant when she got in one morning at 4 a.m.
