'Twilight' burns bright at box office

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1," with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, took in $42 million in its second weekend atop the U.S. box office.

"The Muppets" debuted at No. 2 with nearly $30 million in weekend receipts.

"Happy Feet Two," the animated sequel with the voices of Elijah Wood and Robin Williams among others, was third with more than $13 million in its second week.

All studio estimates of gross U.S. receipts during the weekend are via Box Office Mojo.

"Arthur Christmas" opened at No. 4 with $12.7 million, while Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" debuted a disappointing No. 5 with $11.4 million.

"Jack and Jill" was sixth with $10.3 million; "Immortals" seventh with $8.8 million; "Puss in Boots" eighth with $7.5 million; "Tower Heist" ninth with $7.3 million; and "The Descendants" 10th with $7.2 million.
