NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Candice Bergen, Angela Lansbury, John Larroquette and Michael McKean are to star in a Broadway revival of Gore Vidal's "The Best Man," producers said.
They join previously announced star James Earl Jones in the play, which will be directed by Michael Wilson.
Rehearsals are to begin Jan. 30, with the first preview performance scheduled for March 6 and opening night set for April 1 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced, the show's producers said Tuesday.
A synopsis of "The Best Man" describes it as a "play about power, ambition, political secrets, ruthlessness and the race for the presidency."
The 2012 staging will be the first revival of the play since its critically acclaimed run in 2000.
