CHARLESTON, S.C., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- American actress Eva Amurri married former soccer player Kyle Martino Saturday afternoon in Charleston, S.C.

The wedding was hosted by Amurri's mother, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Robbins, who helped raise the bride during his 21-year relationship with her mother, People magazine reported.

The ceremony, officiated by Sister Helen Prejean, was followed by a black-tie reception.

The bride wore a dress by designer Lela Rose, while the groom for a Brioni tux.

"I tried it on and it was over," Amurri told People of the dress.

Other weekend festivities to toast the couple, who became engaged in December, included a scavenger hunt, a cocktail party and a casual oyster roast and barbecue rehearsal dinner.
