WANDA SYKES: U.S. actress and comedian Wanda Sykes says she had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in February.
Sykes, 47, made the revelation during an interview for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" set to air Monday, E! News said.
During her chat with DeGeneres, Sykes said the disease was discovered when she was preparing to have breast-reduction surgery.
"I was very, very lucky," E! quoted Sykes as saying, "because DCIS [ductal carcinoma in situ] is basically stage zero cancer. So I was very lucky. But cancer is cancer. I had the choice of, you can go back every three months and get it checked. Have a mammogram, MRI every three months just to see what it's doing. But I'm not good at keeping on top of stuff. I'm sure I'm overdue for an oil change and a teeth cleaning already. I have a lot of breast cancer history on my mother's side of the family, which I didn't know about. Do you want to wait and not be as fortunate when it comes back and it's too late?"
Sykes is known for her work on TV's "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Wanda Sykes Show."
'ALL MY CHILDREN:' "All My Children" ended its 41-season run on ABC Friday with a cliffhanger, paving the way for a new Internet version of the U.S. soap opera.
Although the online edition of the show is to start in January, the drama's producers are still signing up people to star in it. Susan Lucci, a beloved original cast member, reportedly is still in talks regarding whether she will continue to play diva Erica Kane in its new incarnation. Cameron Mathison and Lindsay Hartley will be returning to "All My Children."
Lucci appeared on the ABC chat show "The View" in New York Friday for what she called a "celebration of a wonderful show," CNN reported.
"This is the building where we shot 'All My Children' most of those 41 years. It's an emotional time, a very happy time. [We have] so much to be grateful for," Lucci said.
The show moved from New York to Los Angeles to tape several years ago.
Friday's television finale showed character J.R. Chandler, played by Jacob Young, drunk and firing a gun at an unknown target at a party at the Chandler mansion. It also featured the apparent breakup of Erica and Jackson Montgomery, played by Walt Willey.
SIENNA MILLER: Sienna Miller says she accused family and friends of leaking personal information about her to the British media before she realized her phone was hacked.
Earlier this year, the actress reached a settlement with Rupert Murdoch's News International regarding stories his News of the World tabloid published about her based on conversations illegally obtained from her cellphone between 2005 and 2006.
She told The Independent newspaper in London she thought she had been betrayed by someone close to her before she figured out what was going on.
"I sat down in a room with my mother, my best friend, my sister, my boyfriend and said 'someone in this room is lying and selling stories and one of you has got to admit it,'" Miller told The Independent.
In part because of Miller's complaints, Scotland Yard has been investigating the phone-hacking scandal and has arrested 16 people. News of the World also closed down this summer.
Miller said she felt she had to stand up for herself because she believes Britain's tabloids have become "completely immoral."
"There was no consideration for you as a human being. You were successful, you were making money, therefore you deserved it and it was a very medieval way of behaving," said the 29-year-old British-American actress, who has appeared in the movies "Alfie," "Casanova" and "Factory Girl."
She also had high-profile relationships with actors Jude Law and Balthazar Getty.
TAYLOR LAUTNER: Hollywood actor Taylor Lautner has broken up with his "Abduction" co-star Lily Collins, a source close to the couple told UsMagazine.com.
"It was a clean break that Taylor initiated," the unnamed insider told the celebrity news Web site, adding the split took place about a week before both appeared at the Sept. 15 Los Angeles premiere of "Abduction."
"At the 'Abduction party,' it was awkward," the source said. "They barely said a word to one another."
UsMagazine.com did not say how long the pair had dated.
