RON ARTEST: Los Angeles Lakers star Ron Artest became the first celebrity eliminated from Season 13 of "Dancing with the Stars" in Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Artest's professional partner was Peta Murgatroyd.

"Who's coming with me?" People.com quoted Artest as joking with the audience after learning his fate.

"Everybody give a round of applause to Peta -- she was awesome!" he said. "I had a great, great time."

TOM SIZEMORE: Hollywood actor Tom Sizemore was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding battery warrant, authorities said.

The "Heat" and "Saving Private Ryan" star has seen his once-bright career eclipsed in recent years by his substance abuse and related drug arrests.

The Los Angeles Times said he was arrested at an apartment early Tuesday, and then booked into Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $26,000 bail.

No information about the incident which sparked the battery charge was available, the Times said.

Sizemore said on his Twitter page he recently shot episodes of the CBS-TV drama "Hawaii Five-0."

LAURIE METCALF: U.S. actor Matt Roth has filed for divorce from actress Laurie Metcalf, his partner of 18 years, court records show.

TMZ reported the news Tuesday.

Roth cited irreconcilable differences as the cause for the split after six years of marriage. He said they separated in 2008, TMZ reported.

The couple are the parents of sons Will, 17, and Donovan, 11, and daughter Mae, 6.

Metcalf played Jackie on TV's "Roseanne," while Roth played the recurring role of Jackie's abusive boyfriend Fisher.

STEVEN SPIELBERG: Filmmaker Steven Spielberg says he plans to begin shooting his Abraham Lincoln movie, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, in Virginia soon.

Spielberg has been developing the picture about the 16th U.S. president for years.

He told the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel he wants to make the movie in Richmond because "a lot of the buildings there, government buildings, look like Washington looked back during the Civil War."

Spielberg said his big-screen adaptation of Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, "Team of Rivals," is "not a battlefield movie." Instead, it will focus on the last four months of Abraham Lincoln's life.

"There are battles in it, and being in Virginia, we have access to those historic battlefields. It is really a movie about the great work Abraham Lincoln did in the last months of his life," the director told the Sentinel. "The movie will be purposely coming out after next year's election. I didn't want it to become political fodder."
