'Octomom' makes boxing debut in Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Nadya "Octomom" Suleman says she meant no disrespect when she left the boxing ring in Florida before her match with a strip-club bartender was officially over.

The goings on occurred Saturday in Fort Lauderdale where Suleman was part of the main event on a card promoted by Celebrity Boxing.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel said Suleman won a split decision over Cassandra "Patience" Andersen even though she left the ring before the final bell. "I thought I was done," she said afterward. "I meant no disrespect."

The Sun Sentinel said what Octomom may have lacked in her skills in the sweet science she made up for it with her training regimen. The newspaper described her as looking "trim and athletic" and displaying "an astonishingly hard set of abs."

As for her 14 kids, Suleman said they were in the care of a baby sitter in Los Angeles. "I miss them, and being away from them makes me anxious," she said. "I really want to get back to them."
