PHIL SPECTOR: Music producer Phil Spector's bid to overturn his 2009 murder conviction has been denied by the California Supreme Court, records show.

Spector, 71, was convicted in the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson.

Rolling Stone said Thursday the court denied an appeal filed by Spector's lawyers requesting a review of the conviction.

A first trial in 2007 ended in a hung jury and a mistrial was declared.

KISS: U.S. rock band KISS has been dropped from the lineup of an upcoming concert honoring late pop icon Michael Jackson, organizers said.

Jackson died June 25, 2009, at age 50. His doctor is awaiting trial for involuntary homicide for allegedly administering lethal levels of sedatives and anesthesia to the singer in an effort to help him sleep.

Katherine, Jackson's mother, announced KISS's participation in "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" this week. However, the group was subsequently dropped from the lineup for the Oct. 8 show in Cardiff, Wales, after fans complained about how KISS front man Gene Simmons called Jackson a child molester shortly after his death, CNN said.

Although dogged by allegations for years, Jackson had never been convicted of any crimes against children.

"We have listened to Michael's fans and are grateful to have been alerted to these unfortunate statements by Gene Simmons," Global Live Events Chief Executive Officer Chris Hunt told CNN Tuesday.

JESSE JAMES: U.S. reality television stars Jesse James and Kat Von D., who broke up last month, say they have reconciled and once again intend to marry.

The pair were planning to celebrate the one-year anniversary of when they started dating by getting married this summer but broke up because their respective careers frequently kept them apart.

Von D., a tattoo artist, was the star of the recently canceled "LA Ink," while James, a custom car builder, starred in "Monster Garage" and competed on "The Celebrity Apprentice."

James Thursday confirmed he and Von. D are again engaged.

"Sometimes you are only given one chance in life," he told People.com. "It was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her."

James' marriage to actress Sandra Bullock famously crumbled in 2010 after he admitted having numerous extramarital affairs just weeks after the actress won an Oscar for her performance in "The Blind Side."

THE SITUATION: Abercrombie and Fitch, a retailer based in Ohio, says it has offered to pay "Jersey Shore" star Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino not to wear its clothes.

"We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans," read a statement issued to The Wall Street Journal Tuesday.

The company did not say how much it offered to pay the outrageous reality star to wear some other brand of apparel.
